Following on from the successes at last week’s Junior National Outdoor Championships, 9 of Andover Archers’ juniors took part in today’s Junior Short Metric Tournament hosted by the Bowmen of Warfield
Once again, our youngsters came through with flying colours! Gold Medals for Aliyah Ramirez, Martin Kairys, Sophie Meyrick, Victoria Loader and Matt Buckwell. Silver medal for Zach Burton and Nicholas Kairys. Bronze medal for Alex Bedford who was shooting in his first tournament after only a couple of months in the sport. George Cotton who also has only been shooting for a couple of months achieved an excellent score in his first tournament and also won a colour prize.
There were more gold medals for the winning Andover Archers team comprising Sophie, Vicky, Aliyah and Martin.
The highlight of the day was that Sophie, Vicky, Aliyah and Martin all achieved new UK National Records as well as Hampshire County Records for their respective rounds.
