Twenty one members of Andover Archers took part in the 2016 AC Delco Indoor Championships at the weekend and they came away with an awesome TWENTY TWO MEDALS!
In the single Portsmouth round, there were Gold Medals for Sophie Meyrick, Saskia Meyrick, Aliyah Ramirez and Connor Smallcombe. Silver Medals for Vicky Loader and Thomas Oak. Bronze Medals for Andy Johnstone, Jude Rolfe-Tarrant and George Cotton.
In the double Portsmouth round, there were Gold Medals once again for Sophie, Saskia and Aliyah along with one for George to add to his Bronze. Vicky won a second Silver Medal and Andy Johnstone added a Silver to his Bronze.
To round off the day’s achievement, Silver Medals went to the Recurve team of Andy Johnstone, Bridget Evans, Karen Burton and Shaun Ashby while three more Gold Medals were won by our Compound Team of Paul Baptiste, Paul Rolfe-Tarrant and Vicky Loader.
By far our biggest medal haul of the year so congratulations to all those who took part.
There is one major tournament left for us to look forward to in 2016 – The Junior National Indoor Championships which will be held on Saturday 3rd December at Stoneleigh Park. We have six of our young members taking part and we send our Very Best Wishes to Vicky, Sophie, Saskia and Aliyah along with Martin and Nicholas Kairys!
