Congratulations to the fifteen juniors from Andover Archers who took part in today’s Talisman Bowman Junior Shoot and achieved our best ever results in this excellent tournament!
Vicky Loader was “Archer Supreme” for the second year in succession. This will be Vicky’s last time at the Talisman and this was an incredible way to sign off!
There were individual Golds for Sophie Meyrick (under 16 compound), Saskia Meyrick (under 14 girls recurve), Aliyah Ramirez (under 12 girls recurve) and George Cotton (under 12 boys recurve).
Silver medals went to Holly Robinson (under 18 girls recurve), Abi Creese (under 12 girls recurve), Thomas Oak (under 12 boys recurve) and Zach Burton (under 12 compound).
Bronze medals went to Alex Oak (under 16 boys recurve) and Connor Smallcombe (under 14 compound).
Andover Archers also took Gold in the Compound Team (Vicky, Sophie & Connor) and Bronze in the Recurve Team (Alex, Holly & Paul Williams).
And if all that was not enough, Sophie won the “Best Gold” for compound archers and Abi was awarded the “Lady Paramount” prize!
Well done also to Jude Rolfe-Tarrant, Louie Brown and Josh Baxendale who all shot well without winning medals.
For Holly (16), Louie (14), Paul (14), Josh (12) and Abi (10), this was their first experience of taking part in a tournament! An astonishing start for them all!
As always, all of the young archers were a credit to their club and their families. We are all, quite justifiably, proud of them!
