Glorious weather greeted the nine members of Andover Archers who took part in the 2018 Harlequin Bowmen “Diana” tournament.
Medal winning performances from Treve Eddy (Bronze Gents Recurve), Abbie Loader (Silver Ladies Recurve) and Thomas Oak (Gold Junior Gents Recurve) along with Vicky Loader (Gold Ladies Compound) whose score of 958 set a new UK National Record for the Albion round, beating the previous record which had been in place for 27 years by 6 points.
Good shoots also from Shaun Ashby, Paul Baptiste, Ned Oak, Ian Portman and Simon Smith.
Sadly, we failed in our attempt to become the first club to win the magnificent “Diana” trophy three years in a row with our team of Vicky Loader, Paul Baptiste, Treve Eddy and Abbie Loader finishing a close second and having to settle for the smaller effigy of the goddess (only 18″ compared to 36″ for the top award).
An excellent day and hopefully we will return next year to regain the coveted top prize!
